The diagnostic criteria for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) have changed significantly with the new version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). The criteria have changed in several ways to help with diagnostic and treatment aspects. Compared to the old version of DSM-IV, the newest diagnostic criteria DSM-5 pays a clear line to explain what entails a traumatic event.
