Auditory neuropathy is the hearing disorder that is characterized with the inner ear successfully detecting sound but has problems transmitting the sound to the brain. Auditory neuropathy can be experienced by people of all ages including children and adults. Currently, it is unknown the number of people who experience auditory neuropathy, but it is assumed that auditory neuropathies play a considerable role in deafness and hearing impairments.
