ANSWER
I work in the operating room in a hospital. The type of assessment I perform on each of my patients is a combination of partial and focused. When patients first come into the hospital, the pre-op nurses perform an initial comprehensive exam. Before I go introduce myself, I review the patient’s chart and assessment taken by the pre-op nurses. Key examples of subjective data that I look for are: name, present concern (or why they are having surgery), personal medical history, family medical history, lifestyle (drinking/smoking status), allergies.
