It has been said that global trade improves the quality of life. Do you believe that this is true? Are there examples of global trade lessening the quality of life in a particular country or region? Does everyone benefit equally from global trade? Why or why not?
Using research, argue either for or against the statement that global trade improves the quality of life.
ANSWER
Global trade is the import and export of goods and services internationally. It allows nations to expand their markets and access the goods and services that they would not have otherwise accessed domestically. Gitman et al., (2018) noted that though global trade improves the quality of life, it faces a myriad of hindrance that end up impeding the quality of life of some parties in international trade. It is correct to argue that global trade improves the quality of life, considering it increases employment opportunities, spurs economic growth of a country, and avails cheaper and diverse products home to the customer (Gitman et al., 2018).
