Your discussion board this week is going to be a little different than what you are used
to. Pick two items from the following list. Be sure to provide appropriate links so other
students can access the videos, articles, etc. about which you are posting and provide a
full citation in APA format. Please note that you may not post something that has
already been posted by another student, such as a video, article, etc. The following are
your choices.
Find and post a video that discusses research on the topic in which you plan to
address in your survey project (for example, solutions to address homelessness,
stress of people in graduate school, etc.). Summarize the video and discuss at
least 2 things you learned from the video and at least 2 questions you still have
questions about. Discuss 2 strengths and 2 weaknesses of the research
presented in the video.
Find and post a peer reviewed research study on the topic in which you plan to
address in your survey project. Summarize the study including research problem,
sample, method, results, and conclusion. Discuss at least 2 things you learned
from the article and at least 2 applications of the research to a therapeutic
setting. Note that you can use this study in your final presentation.
Find 2 different surveys that measure some type of psychological construct on
the Internet. Take the surveys and then reflect on whether you think they are
accurate and why. What have you learned about survey development based on
your observations of the surveys you took? How can you use surveys in clinical
practice?
Create a Power Point, Prezi or photo essay that discusses the main points of
planning a research study about topics related to psychology. Also, share how
this type of study can be applied to clinical practices. Be sure to narrate the
presentation.

ANSWER
My topic for the survey project is alcohol use. Alcohol use has destabilized families and personal lives to the extent that people have lost jobs and livelihoods. In that case, addressing the problem would ease the burden that individuals and families are facing because of the problem.
