Answer
Assessment and diagnosis involves multiple approaches and theories. As a therapist, I prefer and would largely use psychoanalytic therapy and cognitive-behavioral approaches. Psychoanalytic therapy involves exploring the unconscious mind to help develop a treatment method. Cognitive-behavioral therapy involves identifying maladaptive thinking patterns, emotions, and behaviors and substituting them with desirable patterns of behavior, motion, and thinking.
