In 2018, the firm was awarded a US$1.7 billion contract, making it the twenty-fourth largest defense contract (CMS, n.d.). DynCorp specializes in intelligence training, flight operation training and support, vehicle operations, and international development. Over the years of its existence, DynCorp International has emerged as one of the leading service providers to the DoD in international deployments. The firm is supporting the United States military in operations in Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Haiti, Bolivia, and Kuwait. However, it faces a business risk, considering the United States is working towards reducing its spending on foreign missions. Besides, the firm’s business success relies on successful bidding of military contracts. It, thus, does not have guaranteed sustainability because it can unsuccessfully bid for contracts.
