The purpose of this direct care project is for learners to apply the nursing process to assess if the nursing care provided by professionally certified nurses will result in improved patient outcomes. This is Part 4 of 4 in the Direct Care Project.

4. Interpretation of results
a. Summarize data from the tables
As seen above, there were 3 registered nurses in the survey. The pre-survey indicates a relatively lack of knowledge among the nurses, especially surrounding the correlation between nursing specialty and leadership, nurse specialty and patient outcomes, and the cost …..
b. Include any positive or negative changes
The notable positive change is that all registered nurses were strongly convicted that they would be interested in pursuing specialty certification. Also, there was an increase in knowledge as the registered nurses indicated that they had gained a deeper understanding of their specialty certification and its resulting impact on leadership skills and patient outcomes.
